Gilbert v. Cedars Sinai, et al. – Los Angeles Superior Court (Central), Judge Ernest Hiroshige. Mr. Packer defended an orthopedic surgeon who performed left hip arthroplasty on 82-year-old female. After discharge from the PACU, patient was transferred to the orthopedic floor, where at 4:30 am the following morning was found unresponsive. Patient was resuscitated, but left with severe encephalopathy and life support was discontinued the following day. 23-day jury trial resulted in a Defense Verdict.
